Three Steps. One Shared Vision.
The international Treehouse Hiking Path at Lake Lore Lindu
The Treehouse Hiking Path in Indonesia is not a one-time project. It is developed through a clear three-step process that combines education, participaion and sustainable construction.
As the Bund für Baumhaustechniker Bildung, Forschung, Natur, Sport und Jugend e. V., we contribute our long-standing experience from the Black Forest in Germany, where we already operate a fully established treehouse hiking path with ten tree-friendly treehouses.
Step 1:
Online Workshop – Sharing knowledge, connecting ideas
Treehouse Online Workshop on October 27
We started with the International Online Workshop 27 2025 via Zoom. People from Germany, Indonesia and around the world came together and developed a concept für a threehouse hiking path in Lore Lindu National Park.
The project starts by bringing people together: architects, engineers, educators, students, local stakeholders, NGOs and authorities from Germany and Indonesia.
In international online workshops, participants exchange knowledge on environmental education. The online workshop laid the conceptual foundation for all further steps.
Step 2:
Modelling Workshop – Turning ideas into tangible designs
Modelling Event Anca, Lore Lindu (21.–23. November 2025)
During the on-site modelling workshop at Lake Lore Lindu, theoretical concepts are transformed into Together with local youth, students and professionals, scale models of treehouses and hiking huts are built using regional materials.The focus is on learning together:
Which construction methods suit the tropical environment?
How can trees be protected in the long term?
Which designs combine safety, functionality and landscape integration?
This step strengthens local skills and ensures that the project is environmentally and culturally grounded.
Step 3:
Construction Event – Building together, creating lasting impact
Construction Workshop, Anca, Lore Lindu (9.-15. Dezember 2025)
In the final construction event, selected models are realized as full-scale prototypes Under professional guidance, tree-friendly structures are built that can become permanent elements of the treehouse hiking path.
Construction is carried out:
using local materials
involving young people from the region
following clear safety and conservation standards
This transforms an educational process into a long-term place of learning and experience inspired by the treehouse hiking path in the Black Forest, yet adapted to Indonesian conditions.
